Gog and Magog: Who Are They
When we read about Gog and Magog in Ezekiel 38-39, we discover God has given us much detail about this End Time war and still with all that's said some thing remain vague until we actually see them. So in keeping watch for the real time events the current situation bares our attention.
Ezekiel 38:1-2: The word of the Lord came to me: “Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal;
The old USSR once encompassed all the land we know as Ukraine and the Baltic states up to the edge of the Black Sea
The Baltic states with Ukraine Belarus Poland and Romania are also an area most often described as "The Land of Magog" by historians
In scripture Magog is also described as in the North (of Israel) Gog then is most often seen as the leader/ruler of the land of Magog
One meaning for the word Gog is "Prince of Rosh." (Gog) Rosh is the old root word for the land of Russia.
Taking the above information in context of todays events ...Putin says this is all part of Russia and he intends to take it all back and rebuild the USSR
Ukraine is just the start once he has taken it back he can set up bases and move toward the rest of the Baltic states if he succeeds at this endeavor
We might well be seeing the first steps of forming of Gog Magog.
We can tell by the scripture others will join with Gog to form this army that will at some point attack Israel and be destroyed
As of now Russia seems to be pretty much alone in their efforts to seize Ukraine so as watchman we watch events.
If Russia/Putin goes after the Baltic states that are members of NATO article 5 says an attack on one is an attack on all he will find himself at War with Europe and U.S.
